June 28, 2016 – It’s that time of year again and the annual cancer walk planning and pledging has begun! The goal this year is $3000. With the amazing success we have had in the past 2 years, let’s make this year bigger and better!
All proceeds will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society of NL
The walk takes place on July 24 and starts at 2:00 pm (Registration + walk)
Pledge sheets will be available over the next few days in the community center or you can get one directly from me.
Online set up is available and encouraged for those who wish to donate using credit and through various walking participants. You can sign up as a participant or make a donation by following the link below
February 15, 2016 – Winterfest is fast approaching and your community board is busy planning and preparing our activities. Flyers were sent out in community mailboxes but in case you missed it, here is our online version. We hope to see you and your families there!

October 26. 2015 – Halloween is fast approaching and how great is it that it lands on a Saturday this year? The SHCCB would like to invite all of the little ghouls and goblins to our Halloween dance which will take place on October 30, 2015 (Friday) from 6:30 – 8:30. Children 6 and under will need to be accompanied by an adult. This takes place at the Shea Heights Community Center. We hope to see you all there!!!

June 12, 2015 -The SHCCB and the Folk Festival Committee are thrilled to announce the newest addition to our Folk Festival: a permanent stage! Some may have noticed the trailer parked in front of the ballfield; this in preparation for the construction of the new stage! It was always a dream of Harold Druken Sr to have a permanent stage, and this year that dream will become a reality. Keep watching over the next few weeks as we take our Folk Festival to the next level.
June 8, 2015 – In memory of Mr. Harold Druken Sr. and his fundraising efforts, we have decided to make our “Mudder I’m Stuck” cancer walk, an annual event. For those participating in the walk and wish to sponsor online, please visit the link below and enter our team password provided.
T-shirt’s and hats will be available for purchase during the event on July 19th and details will be posted on our Calender page. Pledge sheets are available at the community center.
The money raised will be provided to Daffodil place on Ropewalk Lane here in St John’s. It is known as the home away from home for those from outer areas of Newfoundland, receiving cancer treatments. In the building they also offer a resource room which provides synthetic and real hair wigs, as well as, turbans and scarfs for all cancer patients free of charge. the Canadian Cancer Society also offers a driving program that provides free rides for patients to and from cancer treatments.

April 28, 2015 – We are very excited to announce that planning is now underway for the 2015 Shea Heights Annual Folk Festival. For information on booking a booth, a newsletter will be distributed to all of the community mailboxes as well as in our Facebook group news-feed. April 28, 2015 – We have successfully ventured through Volunteer week and celebrated our volunteers with our Volunteer Appreciation Night, which took place on April 18, 2015. We wanted to extend a big THANK YOU to all of the wonderful volunteers in our community, as well as those who organized, and made the night an entertaining and successful night
